These terms of use apply to the use of the nbnl.de platform, including the catalogue, blog, travel, accident overviews, advisor, Tour Buddy, route planner, navigator, racing games, online multiplayer, NBNL MCP, Best Routes (route and tour platform), Hot or Not (community rating), the community (community stream, public member profiles, groups), Garage (digital workshop) and Premium areas.
NBNL provides editorial content, model information and interactive features. Some of the content is freely accessible (Freemium); more extensive features may be reserved for Premium.
Use of the platform is permitted from the age of 16. Persons under 16 may only use NBNL and register with the express consent of a parent or guardian (in accordance with Art. 8 GDPR).
A user account is required for some features. By registering, users expressly accept these terms of use. Users are obliged to keep their access credentials confidential and their details accurate. Accounts are not transferable.
The automated reading, indexing or copying of content from this platform — in particular motorcycle information, price details, media data, user data or structured data sets — is prohibited without the provider’s express written permission. This applies irrespective of the technique used (crawlers, bots, headless browsers, API requests at a non-human frequency, etc.).
Exempt are search engine crawlers to which access is expressly granted via robots.txt as well as access via the official NBNL MCP interface with a valid API key.
Logged-in users can submit content of their own — in particular GPS tracks and tour stages (Best Routes), motorcycle photos in the “Hot or Not” area, bike photos and documents in the Garage as well as, in the community posts, comments, reactions, images, shared posts (reposts), group content and profile details (including display name, profile text, profile/header image). By submitting, the person confirms that they hold all necessary rights (created themselves or with the author’s express permission) and grants NBNL a simple, worldwide, free right of use to store the content within the platform, to process it technically (format, size, watermark) and to display it within the chosen visibility. In “Hot or Not”, an NBNL watermark is burned in automatically. Garage content is private by default; public profiles and posts become visible only after active release or deliberate publication (see privacy policy).
The following are in particular not permitted: discriminatory, violence-glorifying, youth-endangering or unlawful content, advertising without permission, content showing identifiable persons without their consent, and content from third-party sources without the right to publish it (e.g. commercial GPX collections, press photos, manufacturer/product images). NBNL may check submitted content before release, reviews reported content promptly and removes infringements without prior notice. Your own uploads can be deleted at any time; copies already downloaded by third parties remain unaffected.
Using the report function, users can flag problematic content. Reports are generally reviewed within five working days; manifestly unlawful content is removed without delay. Repeated or serious infringements may lead to the blocking of the account (cf. § 8c).
The community (community stream, public profiles, groups) thrives on respectful interaction. For all content and interactions published there, the following apply as binding rules: community rules. The following are in particular prohibited:
Users are themselves responsible for the content they submit. NBNL does not adopt user-generated content as its own. Infringements may lead to the removal of the content and — in the case of repeated or serious infringements — to the blocking of the account (cf. § 8c). We handle reports of problematic content under the notice procedure pursuant to § 8g.
Groups: Whoever creates a group is its responsible leadership; they can remove posts in their group and exclude members, and they share responsibility for the content published there within the framework of the reporting duties. Local and regional groups operated by NBNL are moderated centrally. Infringements within a group can likewise be reported (§ 8g) and may lead to the removal of content, exclusion from the group or the blocking of the account.
Sharing (reposts): When passing on other people’s posts, the original visibility is preserved; a post already published publicly cannot be shared publicly again, but only within your circle of friends or a group.
Blocking: Members can block other members. In the personal community views (stream, profile, search), posts, comments and activities are then hidden in both directions and interactions (commenting, friend requests) are prevented. Posts set to public are not affected: they remain accessible without an account and via a direct link. Blocking does not replace the report function under § 8g.
At present all features are offered free of charge; there is no paid Premium offering. The provisions on subscriptions, prices, payment, withdrawal and cancellation apply again only once NBNL makes a paid offering available.
There is no entitlement to continuous availability. Maintenance, technical faults or external services may temporarily restrict use.
All editorial content on nbnl.de — including texts, accident analyses, catalogue information, graphics and images — is protected by copyright and is the property of NBNL or of the respective authors. Reproduction, distribution or making available to the public — including in extracts — is prohibited without express consent. Quotations to the extent permitted by law (§ 51 UrhG) are allowed, provided the source is clearly stated.
Content is produced with care, but without warranty as to completeness, currency and accuracy. Technical data, accident data or recommendations serve as information and do not replace individual professional advice.
The route planner and the navigator serve solely for non-binding orientation and route planning for motorcycle tours. The routes, route descriptions, map data and navigation instructions provided have not been checked for road safety, current road conditions or legal admissibility.
NBNL may use anonymised and aggregated usage data (e.g. route sections viewed, features used) to improve the platform. Personal data are not passed on in doing so.
In the event of infringements of these terms of use or of applicable law, NBNL reserves the right to block user accounts temporarily or to delete them permanently. This applies in particular to scraping, misuse of the platform or attempts to circumvent security mechanisms. A prior warning is issued where this is reasonable.
Users can have their account deleted at any time via the account settings or by e-mail to info@nbnl.de After deletion, all personal data are removed within 30 days, unless statutory retention obligations stand in the way.
NBNL endeavours to design the platform accessibly within the meaning of the German Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG). Implementation is proceeding step by step. We are glad to receive notes about barriers or suggestions for improvement at info@nbnl.de entgegen.
NBNL uses AI-supported services (advisor, Tour Buddy, route recommendations, MCP server). In addition, the following content is generated entirely by AI: model texts in the catalogue, summaries of accident reports, descriptions of travel videos as well as illustrations in the games area and on the home page. For this purpose, requests are transmitted to the OpenAI API (OpenAI, L.L.C., San Francisco, USA) as an external AI provider. Not AI-generated are details taken from external sources — for instance the title and channel name of embedded travel videos.
AI-generated content — in particular catalogue model texts — is labelled in accordance with Art. 50(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (EU AI Act). The systems used fall into the minimal/limited risk category; no high-risk systems (Art. 6) and no deepfakes or manipulation are employed. AI content does not replace individual professional advice.
Insofar as NBNL enables the storage and public dissemination of user-generated content (in particular within the community), the obligations of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act, DSA) apply. NBNL uses both automated and manual means of moderation: an automatic pre-check of posts (including the blocking of links, domains, e-mail addresses, HTML code and social media handles), technical protective measures against spam and mass creation (rate limits) as well as the review of reported content.
As a micro-enterprise within the meaning of Art. 19 DSA, NBNL is exempt from the additional obligations for online platforms under Section 3 of the DSA (Art. 20–28, e.g. an internal complaint-handling system); the above obligations for hosting services remain unaffected.
The platform contains links to external sites (e.g. manufacturer pages, sources, social platforms). Their operators alone are responsible for the content and availability of those sites.
NBNL may adapt these terms with effect for the future, for instance in the case of new or changed features or changed legal requirements. We inform registered users of changes affecting material rights or duties or ongoing paid contracts at least four weeks before they take effect, in text form (e.g. by e-mail). If you do not agree to such a change, you may terminate the contract free of charge before it takes effect. We do not unilaterally change the prices or the main services of ongoing contracts — that always requires your express consent.
The ODR platform previously operated by the European Commission was discontinued on 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228); a link is therefore no longer possible. In accordance with § 36 VSBG (German Act on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Consumer Matters), NBNL declares: we are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
German law applies, to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you have your habitual residence (Art. 6(2) of the Rome I Regulation). If you live in another country, the consumer protection provisions that are mandatory there therefore remain applicable to you in any event.
The place of jurisdiction is the provider’s registered office if you are a merchant, a legal person under public law or a special fund under public law, or if you have no general place of jurisdiction in Germany. As a consumer you may sue NBNL either at your place of residence or at the provider’s registered office; NBNL may sue you only at your place of residence (Art. 17 to 19 of the Brussels Ia Regulation).
Should individual provisions of these Terms and Conditions be or become invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The statutory rule takes the place of the invalid provision.
